News and Events in 2005

Insight 2005 Champagne Winner

Insight 2005 at Earls Court must be judged as one of our most successful exhibitions we have participated in, and our stand was never short of interested visitors. We normally run two competitions at exhibitions, as usual we had our “Name the Mole” and as an alternative for those who prefer Champagne there was the opportunity to win a Magnum of the finest available.

After the event our panel of eminent judges decided on the winners of both competitions and John Wood of British Waterways was the deserving winner of the Champagne. We were very pleased to deliver the Champagne to John personally, only to discover that he was getting married the following week. He and his lovely bride intend to toast their happiness before going on honeymoon in Thailand. The Champagne Winner John Wood (left) and Tony Andrews from Gamma
Congratulation to John, everyone at Gamma offers their best wishes to the happy couple.

MRS

MRS Research Excellence and Effectiveness Awards 2005

To celebrate Gamma auditHOST getting to the finalist stage of The ASC/MRS Technology Effectiveness Award 2005, we decided to take table at the Awards Dinner at The Park Lane hotel. This allowed all the staff manning our stand at Insight 2005 to attend along with guests of honour Eric Barna who is General Manager, Software Development at PAI our partner company in the USA and his lovely wife Karen.

As you can see from the photographs we all made a special effort with the Gamma ladies looking particularly gorgeous in their best dresses and the men in their stylish dinner suits.

Everyone had a fantastic time and the Champagne Reception set the scene for the superb food and wine that was to follow and provided the opportunity to meet many new interesting people from the market research industry.

Insight 2005

The most important exhibition in the Gamma calendar is Insight, which this year was held on 25-26 October at Earls Court. This is major event in The Market Research World which is why we are there and this year proved to be a great success with many visitors to our stand.

Once again the Gamma stand presented a very stylish image, enhanced this year by featuring a 42 inch Plasma Screen to allow greater numbers of visitors to see auditHOST and mTAB demonstrations in comfort. In previous years we have had queues of visitors waiting for demonstrations, which is very encouraging but not very practical. We expected more requests for auditHOST demonstrations this year as it was a finalist in the ASC /MRS Technology Effectiveness Award, but the numbers far surpassed our expectations, by a factor of three! In fact, we received over 100 enquiries.

We ran our Name the Mole Competition which generated so much interest that it took our eminent panel of judges over a week to decide on the two winners. The criteria was to find an interesting name that had a link with our Moles and the two winners really got in to the spirit of things.

The lucky winners are Louise Foley of B&Q with "Cindy", Cindy Crawford is famous for her Mole and Kate Munro of Mott MacDonald with "Murphy" because like the drink our Moles are Dark and Smooth. We had many interesting names but these grabbed the judge's imagination.

As in previous years we also had a Magnum of Champagne to win for visitors who preferred greater liquidity, notwithstanding our Moles being likened to Murphys by Kate Munro. John Wood of British Waterways was the lucky winner.

Just in case you have forgotten why the Mole is our mascot the reason is simple, our slogan is "Making Molehills out of Mountains" which refers to our ability to take a mountain of data and turn it in to a molehill of insightful information.

We hope you can visit our stand at Insight next year which is moving to Earls Court 2 for 2006, further details will be available on the website as soon as they are available. If you need any information on Gamma, auditHOST, mTAB or future events please contact us.

ASC

ASC Conference: 15th & 16th September 2005 at Newland Park, Buckinghamshire

Maximising Data Value and Data Use & Re-use.

Newland Park in Buckinghamshire was chosen as the venue for The ASC two day residential Conference on the 15 & 16th September 2005, the theme was Maximising Data Value and Data Use & Reuse Gamma Associates decided to support this event as usual by taking exhibition space and for Marketing Executive Tony Andrews to attend as a delegate.

The usual high standard or organisational skills was apparent from Diana Elder of The ASC and the delegates and exhibition staff enjoyed a wonderful dinner after the official registration on the Wednesday evening. Some great wines put everyone in a relaxed mood for the evening and the conference on the following two days.

From the start of the day, after a magnificent English breakfast, through to the conference and exhibition periods the two days were a real inspiration for everyone who attended. There were many interesting speakers at the conference, who with other visitors to our stand saw demonstrations of Gamma's services. One of our latest recruits, Matthew Gough, did a great job presenting our software, and showed his potential for this type of event in the future. The ASC Conference really shows how you can successfully combine academic learning and networking with like minded people, whilst also having some relaxing fun. We recommend you should try one very soon.
